Sam Bradshaw Productions was established in 2007 after the need for a safari park-themed show arose at Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire. Using the park’s Monkey and Lion mascot characters, a head full of imagination and Sam’s experience at the Walt Disney Company , The Go Bananas Show was created. The show captivated over 47,000 people in one summer and was recommissioned the following year — Sam Bradshaw Productions was born.
SBP went on to co-produce The Tinderbox with TNT Productions and the UK tour of My Dog’s Got No Nose by Ron Aldridge. Sam also directed Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens for the Camden Fringe Festival. Later, SBP produced and directed Santa’s New Sleigh for Lichfield Garrick Theatre and Santa’s Elves and the Shoemaker for the Walker Theatre in Shrewsbury.
In 2016, Sam collaborated with Sell a Door Worldwide on large-scale UK tours, including Avenue Q, Little Shop of Horrors, American Idiot (West End), James and the Giant Peach, and Footloose.
In 2019, SBP remounted Chicken Shed’s production of David Walliams’ Mr Stink, a full-length musical starring a talented company of 16 actors. The same year, they toured Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang, starring Coronation Street’s Tracy Shaw and East Enders’ Matt Lapinskas.
Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 in 2020, SBP brought Santa’s New Sleigh to the Capitol Theatre Horsham’s main house for a socially distanced, sell out, audience. The following year, they returned to Horsham with a sold-out production of The Gingerbread Boy.
In 2023, SBP won a tender with Carnival UK to produce bespoke entertainment onboard five large family cruise ships. This included entertaining workshops, animating Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit, and two brand-new musicals: Captain Birdbrain’s Birthday and The Dinosaur that Couldn’t Roar. They have been recommissioned in 2025, 2026 and 2027, with the addition of a new space-themed musical, To the Moon and Back, by Jon Monie. We are delighted to be in partnership with Carnival UK, P&O and Cunard Cruise lines.
Last year, SBP partnered with Penguin Ventures to license Spot the Dog for a brand-new adaptation of Spot’s Birthday Party, which toured the UK and Singapore. The production will now tour to over 38 global theatres, before heading to Dubai and Kuala Lumpur. Spot’s Birthday Party will tour again in the autumn of 2026.
SBP have secured the theatrical license to stage David Walliams’ bestselling book There’s a Snake in My School, set to premiere in Singapore and Dubai in January 2026 before touring the UK throughout next year.
